Are you curious to know, why red blood cells are shaped like breath-mint disks with a dent in the middle?
The answer to
this query seems interesting, this is because, the breath-mint design
allows the cells to twist through capillaries and the tiniest blood
vessels. A sphere or cube is less flexible and might get stuck. Also,
the dents in the cells add to the surface area, allowing more oxygen and
carbon dioxide to pass in and out of the cell.
